16 Days of Action on Violence against Women 5th December 2012 Waterford City Library

The Women's Centre is part of the LAN (Local Area Network on Violence against Women) which is a network of community and statutory organisations based in Waterford who come together to raise awareness and improve services for women experiencing violence.  The LAN is currently running a radio campaign on WLRFM linking into Women's Aid national campaign 'We're ready to listen even if you're not ready to speak.'  On Wednesday the 5th December from 11 - 12.30 an event is organised for Waterford City Council Central Library.  See a

Immediate call for legislation

The Waterford Women's Centre calls on the Irish Government to legislate on the X Case immediately. 

NCCWN networking event and AGM Dublin November 14th 2012

South East Region presentation

 Staff and management from the Women's Centre attended the National Collective of Community Women's Networks (NCCWN) AGM & Networing event in Dublin on the 14th November 2012. Along with the other regions the South East Region (Access Wexford  & the Women's Centre) presented the regional work together. As alwarys it was a great opportunity to link in with the other women's projects througout the country.

Access Wexford and Women's Centre meet in Wexford

On Wednesday 7th November 15 women from the Time for Me group visited  our sister project Access 2000 in Wexford.  This was part of the South East NCCWN (National Collective of Community Women's Networks) regional work.  The group got a chance to experience wonderful Wexford hospitality and hear about the work.   The Wexford group will return the visit to Waterford on the 6th December when we promise show them Waterford hospitality by introducing them to the Blaa.
