International Women's Day 2013

The Women's Centre will host the following events in Waterford to mark International Women's Day 2013:
Women’s History Exhibition in Waterford City Council Library, Lady Lane, Waterford  from Tuesday February 26th to International Women’s day March 8th. This rich and extensive exhibition highlights 100 Waterford city and county women’s stories through photographs and written narrative.  This is the work of Andrew Kelly, Kilmacthomas and Ann Fitzgerald Waterford Women’s Centre. This work is ongoing and already is an extensive collection of women from all areas of life that have made a valuable contribution to the development of Waterford. An official launch of the exhibition will take place on Monday March 4th at 12 noon in Waterford City Library.    All are welcome.
Wednesday the 6th of March: Garter Lane Theatre 8pm Dr. Maeve O Grady, founder member of the Waterford Women's Centre will present a talk on:
 'What has changed for women, and what has stayed the same?
Maeve Taylor, Irish Family Planning Association, Policy and Advocacy Officer will speak on:
  'Family Planning: its Role in Women's Rights and Developments'.
Friday 8th of March International Women’s Day: An open day in the Women’s Centre from 10am -1pm all are welcome to drop in and find out about the work we do. Join us for some light refreshments and relaxed conversation.
