Thanks to the generosity of Irish Rail, through 'The Journey's on us' initiative in association with the Mooney Show on RTE Radio 1, twenty five women from the Centre travelled free to Dublin last Wednesday by rail. While there,  we made great use of the trip and took the opportunity to visit Leinster House, organised through local TD Ciara Conway. Following the visit to Dail Eireann we made our way to Áras an Uachtaráin and waved to President Higgins as he left the Aras on official business.  We were welcomed by the Presidents Aide de Camp Louise Conlon with tea and cakes before embarking on a tour of the house which brought the history of the past Presidents alive.

Many of the women who travelled to Dublin on Wednesday are participants on an innovative programme funded under the Equality for Women Measure. This programme uses a personal and professional portfolio development approach to exploring employment options for women community leaders. The visit to both the Dail and Áras an Uachtaráin were therefore very relevant to the group.
